Bind It All Mini Heart Album

February 5th, 2008 by Tracy

I previously posted a chipboard coaster album & a card that were both made using the Bind It All. But, this mini heart album was really my first attempt at using the Bind It All.  All papers, inks, and stamps are from The Angel Company.

The album is not perfect, but over all I’m pretty happy with how it came out. I learned two really good lessons though; 1) this project was too small for a first attempt and 2) I should have started with a nice straight edged project instead of an odd shape such as a heart.

I actually had to re-make the front cover, since my first attempt at punching came out horribly. I have to admit that I shelved the project for several weeks before I figured out how to get  fairly consistentlly punched pages.

The front and back covers were made by running Rustic Chic Collection papers through my Xyron and then adhering them to chipboard pieces. I then die cut the covers using the largest heart of my Sizzix Hearts die. (The photos were die cut from the next largest heart size.)

For the pages, I again used my Xyron and Sizzix Hearts die. The pages are made from various combinations of Rustic Chic Collection papers and Match Makers cardstocks in Pink, Red, and Robin’s Egg. I sponged Burnt Umber Palette ink around the edges of all the pages and covers.

I then stamped images from the “Love Doodles”, “Heart-itude”, and “He Said She Said” stamp sets.  Images are stamped in either Burnt Umber Palette ink or L’Amore Palette ink.

I used a sanding block to distress some of the pages for more of the shabby chic look.

Just for fun, I die cut a small heart out of a left over scrap from making the covers. I think it makes a cute embellishment.

Okay, with faces like these I just had to do something a little “edgy”! I call this layout “Grunge Love”.

How sweet is this! These photos are all of my daughter Sarah & her husband Geofrey. The photos were taken at a sushi bar in Canada in December of 2006 before they were officially engaged.

The back cover. Nothing special, although I still may add a little something. Great shot of our Rustic Chic Collection paper though.

SO, just how small is the mini heart album… well, this photo shows you. The red “O” wires are 5/8″. Like I said, not the best choice for a “first” project, but I REALLy love my Bind It All.
