Baby Cards

As I said yesterday, this past Saturday was the first time I felt well enough to stamp in the last couple of weeks. My daughter Sarah, who also happens to be pregnant, and her hubby were having dinner with friends who just had baby boy number 4! I haven’t been able to go over and see the baby, so Sarah agreed to take my gift & card over for me. On top of that, a friend from church was also having a baby shower that morning, and I hadn’t made a card yet.

Since this was for baby boy #4, I thought I’d have a little fun with the card. I used V-925 “Just Like Dad” WIng It Collectin paper, V-47 Greens Bazzill cardstock, V-240 Navy cardstock, TT-2209 Prussian Blue Palette ink, B-123 Pewter Hardware, and the retired TAC stamp set “Baby Things”.

Anna Lemmon, one of the nurses at work tie-dyes these adorable Onesies. I requested the “camo” pattern for baby Jacob, and it was the inspiration for my card.

For the baby shower, I knew the mom-to-be is having a girl, so I wanted to do something feminine. And, since I was in a very non-traditional mood, I thought I’d go for simple elegance, instead of cute.

I used TT-199 Lavender Sachet Palette ink for all the stamping. I used T-2991″Swirlies” on the envelope, and D-437 Assorted Bitty Blossoms, G-703 Audrey Embellishment Jar, T-2722 “Scripty Bet” stamp set, V-43 Violets Bazzill cardstock, and the retired TAC ”Mulberry Meadow” cardstock collection for the card.

Okay, so a funny thing happened on the way to… well, life!

It started with a sore throat on Halloween and turned into bronchial pneumonia. (At last count I have had 5 injections, 4 prescriptions, 6 OTC meds, and 27 breathing treatments!)

So, having been down for 2 weeks now, and not returning to work until this coming Tuesday, you’d think I’d have managed to get some stamping in. (I actually did, but it wasn’t until yesterday when I had to get some baby cards done!) Otherwise, I’ve been doing my best to hold the couch down. (sigh)

I feel so out of touch with everything, and waaaay behind on all my holiday stamping projects. Yep, the proverbial clock is ticking! I have big plans for the next couple of weeks: stamping, stamping, stamping, and more stamping as long as my body holds out! Oh, and I plan to get the site updated with some of the things I did before I got sick, as well as the goodies I hope to be producing.

CD Photo Cube

Here is my version of the CD Photo Cube project designed by my friend Julie Griffiths. Julie has lots of great projects on her blog, including an instructional video on the making of the CD Photo Cube. You can check out Julie’s blog here.

I made this cube for my friend Sarah. The cube features photos of her Lhasa Apso puppy Piper.

I used V-235 Brown cardstock & V-93 Pink 3 MM cardstock for the bottom & sides. The pattern cardstock is from the V-851 Catelynne collection.

All stamping is done in either TT-218 Burnt Umber Palette ink or S-975 Pink Petunia VersaMagic Chalk ink.

Embellishments include D-437 Pink Bitty Blossoms, F-72 Pink Tropical Spiral Clip, A-9450 Cupcake Buttons, and pink ribbon.

I asked Sarah for photos of Piper without telling what I was going to do with them. She printed them all out on one sheet for me, so it was super easy to just cut and mount them.

All stamps are from The Angel Company, and include T-2754 Mini Occassions, the limited edition set “From A to Z”, and the retired set “Sweet Memories”.

It only takes 4 standard cd jewel cases, without the black trays, to make the cube.

This project was a lot of fun to make! I choose the brown and pink color scheme to go with Sarah’s scrapping room. Thanks for the great idea Julie!!

Card Ministry - Happy Birthday!

Here are a couple birthday cards I’ve done lately for the card ministry at church.

The first one is more “masculine”. The polka paper is from a retired TAC collection. The stamp set is the retired “Another Year” also from TAC.

Although the second card is also designed to be masculine, the colors make it so that it could be non-gender specific. The striped paper is from another retired TAC collection and the sentiment is from T-2105 “Inspirational Sayings” stamp set.

Halloween Treats

Here are some quick & easy Halloween treats I made up using the T-2990 Sweet Goodies stamp set & the Placon boxes our TAC Gift With Purchase (GWP) stamps come in. I used my D-702 Scalloped Square Clever Lever punch for the colored papers & the D-75 Square Clever Lever punch for the white cardstock layer. The square frame is stamped in TT-220 Noir Black Palette ink and the pumpkin in TT-190 Orangerie Palette ink.

Each treat box easily holds 6 Tootsie Rolls midgets. You could put other things besides candy in the boxes; such as little toys. I was able to make, fill, and assemble 60 treat boxes in just a few hours while hanging out with my family.

I used yellow, purple, green, & orange patterned paper for making the scalloped mats on each of the treat boxes. I used black, orange, yellow, green, & purple ribbon for the bows. Most of the paper & ribbon were actually scraps I already had on hand. The papers are from the V-901 Brighten My Day collection, as well as some retired TAC papers. I mixed and matched the paper/ribbons colors on the boxes just for fun!
