Starbucks Birthday Card Set

August 28th, 2008 by Tracy

My friend (and boss) Cheryl celebrated her birthday today, and because she is a Starbucks fan, I just had to make her birthday goodies Starbuck themed! I had a little help from the wonderful people from our local Chubbuck, ID Starbucks. Fausto (& his wife Jen) provided me with the Starbucks sleeves; Dani provided me with tons of help picking out goodies for Cheryl’s birthday including Starbucks themed tissue paper, Starbuck’s logo stickers, and a vintage Starbucks anniversary poster; and Laurie who gave Cheryl an HUMONGUS Starbucks Latte fixture.

This is a photo of the card front and the coordinating envelope. I stamped the coffee cup on the front and coffee beans all over the envelope flap in Jumbo Java VersaMagic Chalk ink.

Here’s a close up of the card front. I Layered Reece patterned cardstock onto dark brown Bazzil cardstock, then onto medium brown Bazzill cardstock. I cut a Starbucks coffee sleeve in half and sponged Jumbo Java VersaMagic chalk ink around the edges. I then stamped the coffee cups and coffee beans onto the front of the sleeve and attached it to the card front.

Here’s the inside of the card. I made it with double liners, so that EVERYONE at the clinic could sign it. (I circulated the card without the front so that Cheryl wouldn’t accidently see it, since the Starbucks would be a dead give away.) You can see how I stamped the corners with more images from “The Morning Buzz” stamp set.

This is the front of the Starbucks gift card in its gift envelope. I stamped the coffee cup and “The Morning Buzz” in Jumbo Java ink. (The flourish in the lower right hand corner was already printed on the envelope.)

Here’s another view of the card front that shows the Starbucks mini album in the background. You can see the album in-progress, with the unfinished tags sticking out of the “pockets”.

I saw an example of a Starbucks mini album made with the Bind-It-All on the internet over a year ago, but I have never been able to find it again since. I would love to credit the person who originally came up with the idea, as I just love it!

This is the only other photo of the Starbucks mini album I was able to take. I didn’t get a chance to take any photos before I took the album in to work, and my camera batteries died right after I took this. At least is shows an example of one of the stamped tags. As soon as I convince Cheryl to let me “borrow” the album back, I will take more photos and upload a complete tutorial on making the Starbucks album.
