New Studio… making progress!

September 13th, 2009 by Tracy

The new studio is coming along… making progress slowly but surely!

You can see my “foundation” storage on the left. This is made up of several Iris brand plastic drawer sets. Stamps are on shelves from IKEA, but I still need to get a little more organized! Everything is accessible, just not all grouped by category yet. Just one of the many refinements that will happen at a later date.  :) More plastic drawers next to the shelves, as well as under the table.

No more olive-brown curtains! The window is on the eastern side of the house, and the curtains had pretty bad sun damage, not to mention they were really ugly. Also, they were way too long for the way I am using the space. I love the natural light that comes through now! BTW, you can just make out my ink carousel on the table. I’ll post better photos of it later.

That’s my work area under the window. Obviously, still sorting & organizing, but you get the idea. The cart in the lower right is my “mobile work center.” I use it to keep my acrylic mounts, ribbon, finished Card Ministry cards, etc. within easy reach. I can just roll it away when I don’t need it.

Paper on the paper sorters, yeah! Still working on “exactly” what & how things will be stored in the closet.

You can see my “tower of scraps” on the left. I LOVE these drawers for paper scraps! Each drawer is labeled and I have them organized by color, pattern paper, and miscellaneous die cuts. Paper is in two “literature sorters” from Office Max. The left is topped by a wire sorter given to me by a student a few years back. The right is topped by wire cubes. (I’ll give you some tips on the wire cubes in another post.) The baskets are from IKEA.
